Orange jam


Ingredients for Making Orange Jam

Making oranges jam:

Step 1: Cooking Oranges Jam


Before you start making jam, the fruit must be washed well. They are transported to our stores from far away, so it will be useful to do this with a little soap or detergent of good quality and hot water.
Pure clean fruits are put in a suitable bowl, pour boiling water and leave for a couple of hours. What will this procedure give us? First, remove the bitterness from the crust. Secondly, it will make it soft, which means it will be easier to remove and cut it.

Cut the orange into four parts, remove the peel and cut it into strips. Repeat the same with lemon.

The pulp is cleaned of fillets and veins, remove the seeds and cut into small pieces. We shift in a bowl.

Pour sugar into a saucepan, pour it with water and heat over low heat until completely dissolved. Cook the syrup for about 5 minutes.

In the sugar syrup, put the chopped peel and pulp of oranges and lemon. Heat to a boil, turn off the heat and leave to cool completely. We repeat the whole process two more times.

Then again bring the jam from the oranges to a boil and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes. If you want, you can boil it longer, focusing on the consistency of jam. However, prolonged heat treatment affects the aroma and taste.

We spread the hot jam in clean, sterilized jars and tighten the lid tightly. Leave to cool at room temperature.

Step 2: Serve the orange jam.


Orange jam is ideal for making breakfast toast. It can be added to cottage cheese, used as a filling for pastries and cakes.

Recipe Tips:

- It is best to store orange jam in a cool room or on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator;

- if oranges are very sweet, then the amount of sugar can be reduced;

- If you add pectin in the cooking process, you will get a wonderful orange jelly.
