Chicken Liver with Peas

Ingredients for Cooking Chicken Liver with Peas

  1. Chicken liver 300 grams
  2. Milk 1 cup
  3. Sour cream 2-3 tablespoons
  4. Red onion 1 piece
  5. Carrot 1 piece
  6. Canned peas 1/2 cans
  7. Vegetable oil for frying
  8. Ground pepper to taste
  9. Fresh parsley 1/2 bunch
  10. Seasoning universal to taste

Frying pan, kitchen knife, cutting board, spatula, knife for cutting vegetables, deep plate, paper towels.

Cooking chicken liver with peas:

Step 1: prepare the liver.

Defrost chicken liver and rinse it with cold water, cleansing of films and veins. Dry with paper towels and place in a deep plate with cold milk. Leave offal to steep for 30-40 minutes.
Then drain the milk (it is no longer suitable for food), dry the liver with towels and cut it into large pieces.

Step 2: prepare carrots and onions.

Peel onions and carrots, rinse vegetables with cold water. Cut the onions with feathers, and carrots either cut into thin strips using a vegetable cutter, or grate it on a coarse grater.

Step 3: stew the onions with carrots.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan (preferably in a wok) and throw onions with carrots into it. Simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently. Cook vegetables literally in a few seconds.

Step 4: Cook the chicken liver with peas.

Put the prepared liver and green peas in a frying pan with carrots (first drain the juice from it). Add a little more vegetable oil, if necessary. Fry everything over high heat until enough juice is secreted to stew the liver in it. Make the fire medium and continue to extinguish until the liver is cooked, i.e. somewhere 10-15 minutes.

When the liver is ready, dilute sour cream in a small amount of water, add finely chopped parsley and mix, and pour the resulting mixture into a frying pan. Salt, pepper and continue cooking until the sour cream sauce thickens a little.

Step 5: serve the chicken liver with peas.

Serve the finished chicken liver with peas immediately after cooking. Arrange in portions and pour on top the sour cream sauce that has accumulated in the pan. As a side dish, it is best to choose boiled rice or pasta. Very tasty, be sure to try.

Recipe Tips:

- You can use fresh or frozen peas in the same way, but the taste of the dish will be slightly different.

- Instead of sour cream, you can use heavy cream, again a slightly different taste, but why not?
