Ingredients for the Preparation of Grated Pickled Beets

For marinade per 1 liter of water

Cooking grated pickled beets:

Step 1: Prepare the beets.

Rinse the roots properly, do not be lazy, although we will also clean them later, but it’s better to get rid of all unwanted grains of sand and plant debris now. Fold the washed beets in a pan, fill with water, put on medium heat and bring to a boil. Cook vegetables until cooked, but do not digest.
After cooking, dip the beets in cold water and cool. Remove the peel from the finished beetroot, easily peeling it with a knife. Grind the peeled root vegetables with a grater. Korean carrot grater is best.

Step 2: Cook the marinade.

Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, salt and vinegar to it, mix and bring to a boil. Sugar with salt should completely dissolve.

Step 3: Pickle the grated beets.

Thoroughly spread the beets in hot sterilized glass jars and pour boiling marinade. Close. Wrap the blanks well in kitchen towels, turn them upside down and place them on the lids. When the cans with the pickled beets are completely cooled, they can be cleaned in a cool dark place where it will stand idle even until next summer.

Step 4: Serve the pickled beets.

From grated pickled beets, you can safely cook various soups, add it to hot and cold side dishes, as well as use to make salads. On the festive table, beets can be served along with garlic croutons as a snack. And when you suddenly want to quickly have a bite to eat something tasty, just mix the beets with mayonnaise, vegetable oil or sour cream and spread on a piece of bread, which is very tasty and healthy.
