Ingredients for Making Puff Pastry Cherry Strudel

Making cherry strudel from puff pastry:
Step 1: Cook the dough.
Before you start kneading the dough you need to prepare butter. As I indicated in the list of ingredients, it must be melted. You can do this in several ways, but the simplest and most convenient, in my opinion, is to melt the butter in a saucepan. This is done over low heat. As soon as the oil becomes completely liquid, just remove the dishes from the stove and leave them to one side, not allowing them to cool down too much.
Now pour flour into a deep bowl, sifting it through a sieve. Then pour in the same warm, but not hot water, 10 tablespoons of melted butter and break the egg. Knead the dough, it is better to do it directly with your hands. Once it becomes uniform, smooth and resilient, wrap it in plastic wrap and send it to rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the filling.
Open a jar of canned cherries and pour its contents into a colander to stack extra syrup with cherries. Then put the berries on a plate, sprinkle them with sugar and mix. Do not forget to also add almond slices to the filling. You can immediately mix them with cherries or pour later directly on the dough.
Step 3: Form a strudel with a cherry.
Spread a sheet of parchment paper on the countertop and sprinkle it with sifted flour. Put the rest of the dough on paper, removing it from the plastic film, and use a rolling pin to roll out the mass, turning it into a large and very thin sheet.
Put the cherry-nut filling on the resulting pancake from the dough, placing the berries closer to one edge. Now lift the edge closest to the filling by pulling on parchment paper. Carefully wrap the dough with a roll, gradually freeing it from the paper, something this process is similar to the preparation of Japanese rolls. As a result, you should get a kind of sausage. Seal the edges and be very careful not to tear thin dough.
Step 4: Bake the strudel with cherry.
Put the strudel with cherry filling on a greased baking sheet. For convenience, bend the edges of the product in the shape of the letter "P", turning the roll into a large bagel. Using a silicone brush, grease the dough with the remaining melted butter.
Bake strudel with 200 degrees and put it in the already preheated oven. So it’s better to immediately take care of this and put the kitchen appliance to warm up to the desired temperature in advance.
Cook the strudel for 30-40 minutes. During this time, an appetizing golden crust forms on its surface. But after the product is baked, do not rush to serve it on the table. Allow your stunning and aromatic strudel to cool at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
Step 5: Serve the strudel with cherry.
Before serving, slightly cooled cherry strudel must be sprinkled with powdered sugar. This dessert is not served whole, but already sliced into portions. But when cutting it, be especially careful, since the dough is very thin, and the filling tries to fall out, so hold it with a spatula. It is also good to decorate the strudel pieces with a small amount of vanilla or cream ice cream, it is ice cream that perfectly emphasizes the exquisite taste of the cherry-almond filling and the thin, melting dough in the mouth.
