Meatballs with Rice

Cooking meatballs with rice:

Fold the rice in a deep pan, draw a little cold water and rinse the groats with your hand, drain the liquid. Repeat this procedure until the water is completely clear. Then start cooking rice. Step 2: Prepare the garlic.

Peel the garlic and grind five cloves using a special press. Cut the remaining garlic into thin slices.

Step 3: Prepare the minced meat.

In a deep bowl, mix the minced meat with the egg, salt and spices to taste. Add rice and whole garlic to the meat, mix well as well. Nip the pieces from the mixture of minced meat with rice and form balls from them.

Step 4: Prepare the onions and carrots.


Rinse onions and carrots, peel the onions from the husks, and carrots from the skins. Grind vegetables with a grater.

Step 5: Cook the meatballs.


In a large frying pan with high fields, heat oil and pour grated carrots with onions, fry vegetables until they become a little softer, about 5-7 minutes.
At this time, pour the flour into a shallow plate and roll the meatballs in it, and then put them to the vegetables. It is advisable that all meat balls fit in the pan in one layer. As soon as they are browned on one side, turn them over by gently prying them with a metal spatula.
Now dilute the tomato paste in warm boiled water and pour this mixture of meatballs with vegetables. Water should cover meat almost completely. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and cook more 30 minutes.

Step 6: Serve the meatballs with rice.

Serve cooked meatballs with rice hot along with tomato paste gravy. Boiled or fried potatoes, as well as pasta and pickled vegetables, are very suitable as a side dish. Meatballs can be served on the festive table on a large and deep porcelain dish, abundantly pouring gravy on them and decorating with fresh green onions.

Recipe Tips:

- If your minced meat turned out to be very liquid, add a little flour to it.

- In some recipes, minced meat is not mixed with a whole egg, but only with yolk.
