Cooking mackerel in the oven:
Step 1: Prepare the lemon.
Rinse lemon with warm water, cut into thin slices. Carefully remove the seeds with a knife.
If the peel of your lemon was too thick, rub the fruit on a grater to peel a little zest.
Step 2: Prepare the onion.
Peel the onion, rinse. Cut the pure vegetable into small pieces. For convenience, start cutting along the fibers without cutting the bulb to the end, and then crumble across. You will have an undercut tip in your hands, you can throw it away.
Step 3: Prepare the olives.
Remove olives from a jar, shake off excess moisture. Cut into small cubes or rings.
Step 4: Prepare the mackerel.
Peel, rinse, gut, gut and remove the gills. We will not cut the fins, head and tail. Make four or five cuts on the side of the fish. Rub the mackerel inside and out with a mixture of spices and salt (select the amount according to your tastes), also rub and cuts. Fold the slices of onions and olives inside the carcass, then insert the lemon slices. Insert slices of butter into the cuts on the skin. Try to rub the oil with your finger inside the fish so that it does not fall out during cooking.
Step 5: Bake the mackerel in the oven.
Lay the foil on a heat-resistant baking sheet, preheat the oven to 220 degrees. While the oven is warming, heat in it the same baking sheet with foil, greased with butter, then put mackerel stuffed with lemon, onion and olives on it. Bake in the oven 30 minutes. Then take out the fish cooked in the oven and serve it on the table!
Step 6: Serve the baked mackerel.
Serve baked mackerel with a side dish of vegetables, for example, grilled. Enjoy the taste of tender and fatty fish.
Enjoy your meal!
- If you want your mackerel to look more appetizing, bind it with kitchen thread before cooking.
- Instead of olives, of course, you can use olives.
- If you have time, pre-marinate the mackerel in the same seasonings, just wrap in foil and leave for 25-30 minutes.
- Fresh greens will be an excellent decoration for baked mackerel.
