Cooking potatoes with meat in a slow cooker:

Step 1: Prepare the potatoes.

We lay the peeled and washed potatoes on a cutting board, first cut it lengthwise to get approximately equal halves. Divide each half again to make quarters, and cut across into small pieces. Put chopped potatoes in a deep plate with cold water.

Step 2: Prepare the onion.

Onions should also be peeled and washed with cold water. Unlike potatoes, this ingredient needs to be chopped finely. For greater convenience, first cut the onion along the fibers, leaving a solid tip, then chop across the fibers into small pieces. With this method, you reduce the chance of the bulb slipping out of your hands.

Step 3: Prepare the meat.

We wash and clean the meat from fat, veins, and bone residues, if any. When cooking, many ignore this point and very vainly, veins and excess fat spoil the taste of the finished dish, depriving it of tenderness. In addition, in this dish we use pork, which is quite fat in itself.
We cut the pork into small pieces in order to reduce the cooking time, because the meat cut into large pieces will be stewed longer.

Step 4: Prepare the tomato paste.

Place the tomato paste in a measuring cup with a tablespoon. And pour 2 cups of warm boiled water. Mix well, add salt and pepper to this liquid to taste. Mix again, the salt and tomato paste should be completely dissolved in water, a small precipitate is acceptable.

Step 5: Cook the potatoes with meat.


Add a small amount of oil to the bottom of the multicooker and distribute evenly with a piece of potato strung on a fork. Put pieces of meat on a greased surface. Set the slow cooker to "Bakery products" and let the meat fry a little. It will take 5-7 minutes.

Add the onions to the fried meat and mix. Leave the mixture to simmer for another 5 minutes.

The next step is to add chopped potatoes to the stew and onion, not forgetting to drain the water in which he was standing. After, add the tomato paste with spices into the crock-pot. Set the mode "Extinguishing" and cook 1,5 hour. Stir while cooking. If necessary, add still warm boiled water. The meat should boil and become soft, and the potatoes are loose, if this does not happen, increase the cooking time by another 15-20 minutes.

Step 6: Serve potatoes with meat cooked in a slow cooker.

Serve hot potatoes with meat cooked in a slow cooker. Add to the dish the tomato sauce to taste, sprinkle with fresh herbs or chives. Enjoy the traditional taste of stewed potatoes with meat.

Recipe Tips:

- If you want the stew broth to be thick and can be used as a full-fledged sauce, add 1 tablespoon of flour to the tomato paste.

- Using lava leaf and allspice when cooking will add flavor to your dish. But these ingredients are only good in small amounts.

- In order for the tomato paste to have a more pronounced taste, add one canned tomato to it, peeling it from the skin and mashing it with a fork.
