Stewed Chicken in a slow cooker

Cooking stewed chicken in a slow cooker:

Step 1: Prepare the chicken.

Take the chilled chicken carcass. If you decide to use a frozen bird, then one day before cooking, transfer it from the freezer to the refrigerator. Chicken thawed in this way will not become stiff, as it would if you used a microwave or other emergency methods.
Inspect the carcass for hemp or poorly plucked feathers. Peel the chicken, and scorch the feathers using a lighter or gas stove. Cut off excess skin and remove offal and internal fat, if any. Rinse the bird under cold water and pat it dry with a disposable paper towel.

Step 2: Prepare the spices.


Peel the garlic and cut into small pieces. Pour crushed garlic in a deep saucer, add dried herbs, salt and black pepper. Mix all the spices together until a peculiar gruel is formed.

Step 3: Stew the chicken in a slow cooker.

Rub the clean and dry chicken carcass with the mixture of spices prepared in the previous step. Put the bird in the slow cooker, add the bay leaf, select the mode "Extinguishing"close the lid and cook 1 hour.
Ready chicken should easily lag behind the bones and have a fragrant smell. If necessary, increase the cooking time.

Step 4: Serve the chicken stew in a slow cooker.

Cut the prepared chicken stewed in a multicooker into portions on the joints and arrange on plates. Serve with a side dish of stewed vegetables, boiled potatoes or rice. A hearty and tasty lunch for the whole family is ready.

- To make the chicken meat juicier and have a brighter taste, put a couple of slices of a green apple or tomato inside the carcass.
