Cooking cod with potatoes:

Step 1: prepare the ingredients.


We take the right amount of potatoes, cut off the upper skin from the tubers and rinse thoroughly under cold running water. After we dry the potatoes with paper kitchen towels, we put the tubers on a cutting board one by one and cut into 2-3 mm thick circles.

We shift the slices into a deep bowl, fill with pasteurized milk and leave them in this form on 30 - 40 minutes. During this time, almost all starch will come out of the potato and the vegetable rings will become soft, which will favorably affect the taste of the prepared dish.

Next, wash the fresh cod fillet. Dry the fish with paper towels, sprinkle each fillet to taste with salt and put the cod in a deep bowl. We leave it in this form until use. We also put on the kitchen table all the other products and spices that will be needed to prepare this dish. Preheat the oven up to 190 degrees Celsius.

Step 2: put the ingredients in a baking dish.


Across 30 - 40 minutes take a small heat-resistant baking dish, pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil into it and carefully lubricate the bottom and walls of the mold. After we put it in a mold saturated with salt, sprinkle cod to taste with paprika and allspice.

Put potato rings on top of the fish.

Water them with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Then sprinkle vegetable rings to taste with rosemary.

And sprinkle the top potato layer with 1 tablespoon of sifted wheat flour, it will give the finished dish a beautiful golden crust. After we tighten the shape with aluminum food foil so that there are no gaps.

Step 3: bake cod with potatoes.


Now we check the temperature of the plate, and if it has warmed up, we put in it a form with potatoes and fish. Bake them for 20 minutes. After this time, open the oven and carefully remove the foil from the mold. Bake the dish yet 10 minutes or to a golden blush on the surface of the upper potato layer. Then we put kitchen gloves on our hands, turn off the stove, take out the form with the finished dish from it and put it on the cutting board. Using a kitchen spatula, we spread the potatoes and fish on plates and serve this yummy to the table.

Step 4: serve the cod with potatoes.


Cod with potatoes served hot, like a second main course for lunch or breakfast. As a complement to this dish, you can offer various sauces, the ideal option is garlic sauce based on sour cream. This dish can also be served with salads made from fresh vegetables or sliced ​​from various pickled vegetables. Enjoy it!
